He is the son of Ken Barlow and Denise Osbourne, and the widower of Sinead Osbourne. Currently portrayed by Rob Mallard, Daniel is involved in a storyline where he fakes a trip to the Lake District to hide and drink alone, following his suspension from teaching and the fallout from his ex-girlfriend's grooming scandal.
