Derek Baldwin was a fictional character on the CBS daytime soap opera "Beyond the Gates," portrayed by actor Ben Gavin. Introduced in 2025, he was a devoted firefighter from Washington, D.C., and the boyfriend of Ashley Morgan. His character was killed off in the May 20, 2026 episode after he was fatally shot while saving Detective Jacob Hawthorne during a warehouse shootout.
