Doheny in 1901 and later became part of Mount St. Mary's University's downtown campus. A designated Historic-Cultural Monument, the mansion is known for its eclectic Romantic Revival architecture and serves as a popular filming location, notably as the Genovian Consulate in *The Princess Diaries*.
