Duke Kahanamoku was a Hawaiian Olympic swimmer and the "Father of Modern Surfing," credited with popularizing the sport worldwide. He won five Olympic medals in swimming, including three gold, across four Olympic Games from 1912 to 1924. Kahanamoku also served as the Sheriff of Honolulu for many years and was known as Hawaii's "Ambassador of Aloha."
