Katherine Hartley Short was an American licensed clinical social worker and mental health advocate, known as the eldest daughter of actor Martin Short. She earned degrees from New York University and the University of Southern California, dedicating her career to helping others through psychotherapy and support groups. Short died by suicide in February 2026 at the age of 42, following a long battle with Borderline Personality Disorder.
