About #Megalodon
Megalodon (Otodus megalodon) was an extinct species of giant mackerel shark that lived approximately 23 to 3.58 million years ago, from the Early Miocene to the Early Pliocene epochs. Regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators to have ever lived, it could reach lengths of 15 to 18 meters (50 to 60 feet) and preyed on large marine mammals. Its extinction around 3.6 million years ago is thought to be linked to global climate cooling and changes in its prey's distribution.
