Ohio Stadium, commonly known as "The Horseshoe" or "The Shoe," is an American football stadium located on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Opened on October 7, 1922, it primarily serves as the home venue for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and has a current seating capacity of 102,780. The stadium was designed by architect Howard Dwight Smith and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
