A former Army National Guard officer, he was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Star Medals. Prior to his cabinet role, Hegseth was a co-host of Fox News's "Fox & Friends Weekend" and authored several books, including "The War on Warriors."
