She gained prominence for writing the screenplays for films such as "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006) and its 2026 sequel, "27 Dresses" (2008), and co-created the critically acclaimed television series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (2015-2019). McKenna made her feature film directing debut with "Your Place or Mine" (2023).
