The DC Universe (DCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe based on characters from DC Comics publications. Created by James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios, it serves as a soft reboot of the previous DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The DCU aims for a unified continuity across live-action films, television, animation, and video games, with its first chapter, "Gods and Monsters," beginning in 2024.
