He co-directed the Emmy-winning 2022 documentary "Free Chol Soo Lee" and directed the 2026 HBO Max original documentary "The A List: 15 Stories From Asian and Pacific Diasporas." Yi is a second-generation Korean American and has also held roles in journalism, technology, and public policy.
