Australia Zoo is a zoological garden located in Beerwah, Queensland, Australia, encompassing over 750 acres and home to more than 1,200 animals. Founded on June 3, 1970, by Bob and Lyn Irwin, it was later expanded and popularized by their son, Steve Irwin, the "Crocodile Hunter." The zoo is now owned by Terri Irwin and led by CEO Bindi Irwin, with a strong focus on wildlife conservation through its Wildlife Warriors program and Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.
